Mark Ruda is a Partner at O’Connor & Battle, LLP, having joined the firm after years serving as Managing Partner of a premier litigation boutique in the Chicagoland area. Mr. Ruda is a trial attorney with decades of experience trying myriad cases across various practice areas. His practice focuses on personal injury defense, civil litigation, first party property litigation, insurance fraud, insurance coverage, professional malpractice and appellate law. His practice also includes representing insurance carriers during the claim process as to coverage and SIU issues, defending insurance carriers in breach of contract, bad faith, coverage claims, uninsured and underinsured motorist claims.

His trial experience is immeasurable, securing defense verdicts, favorable verdicts, settlements, summary judgments for the defense and dismissals for various insurers throughout his career. Mr. Ruda has successfully tried to verdict over 50 cases in Cook, DuPage, Lake, Will, McHenry, Grundy, DeKalb and Madison counties in Illinois, and successfully defended and prosecuted appeals in both Illinois and the federal courts.

Mr. Ruda is widely recognized for his deep and vast expertise collaborating with insurance carriers with respect to general liability, SIU as well as arson matters.
