wonderful teammate, David S. Atlas (May 20, 1954 \u2013 July 1, 2025)<\/strong><\/em><\/h3><p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">With deep love and heavy hearts, we announce the passing of David Scott Atlas, a devoted father, brother, grandfather, loyal friend, and respected attorney, who left us too soon at the age of 71.<\/p><p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Born in 1954, David lived a life defined by integrity, compassion, and a deep sense of duty to his family, community, and profession. He earned his bachelor\u2019s degree from the University of Illinois in 1976 and went on to receive his Juris Doctor from Chicago-Kent College of Law in 1979. David then embarked on a distinguished legal career that spanned 45 years, during which he became known not only for his sharp legal mind, but also for his fairness, tenacity, and unwavering commitment to justice.<\/p><p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Throughout his legal career, David focused on catastrophic injuries, medical malpractice, products liability and toxic tort work, handling matters that frequently involved millions of dollars in damages. He successfully tried lawsuits in both State and Federal Courts in Illinois, using his wealth of experience handling matters up to and through trial, arbitration and mediation. David was a proud advocate for his clients, seeking to represent each one with the utmost integrity, zeal and dedication.<\/p><p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Beyond the courtroom, David was a man of profound character\u2014steadfast in his values, generous with his time, and endlessly supportive of those around him. He was a proud and loving father and grandfather whose guidance, humor, and warmth will be dearly missed. He cherished his role as a mentor and was a passionate coach, always eager to uplift others and help them reach their full potential.<\/p><p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Managing Partner Ken Battle said, \u201cDave was a joy to work with. He inspired me and others with his work ethic and dedication to his clients.\u00a0 He was a great attorney, but an even better person.\u00a0 He always showed concern for everyone, was willing to share his vast experience, and had some great jokes!\u00a0 Rest well my fellow Illini, you will be missed.\u00a0 I \u2026 L \u2026 L \u2026\u201d<\/p><p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">David will be remembered fondly by family, extended family, friends, and colleagues who were touched by his loyalty, wisdom, and warmth.\u00a0 He leaves behind a legacy of love, service, and strength.
